SUMMARY:2026 Changemaker of the Year Field Day – Sharing Our Roots
DESCRIPTION:Join Marbleseed for the 2026 Changemaker of the Year Field Day at Sharing Our Roots (SOR) to explore how cultural agriculture\, land stewardship\, and community-based farming come together to create thriving\, resilient food systems. \nParticipants will enjoy a guided land walk showcasing SOR’s work in land restoration\, natural areas\, and community gardens\, followed by a farm-fresh lunch prepared by Sharing Our Roots growers. The afternoon features presentations from farmers sharing their own cultural farming traditions and experiences building successful agricultural businesses. \nLearn directly from growers while discovering how agriculture\, conservation\, and community can work hand in hand. \nAgenda: \n10:00 AM – 11:30 AM\nLand walk highlighting SOR’s land restoration project \n11:30 AM – 12:30 PM\nLunch featuring foods prepared by Sharing Our Roots growers \n12:45 PM – 2:00 PM\nFarmer presentations in the field \nCultural grazing practices with Khalid Elhassan\nCultural growing practices and farm business with Erika Gomez \nFarmer Stipends Available \nFunding is available to help farmers attend this training. \nEligible farmers may receive a $250 stipend to help offset travel expenses and time away from the farm. \nFor stipend information or event questions\, contact: \nAlpa Goswami\nProgram Director\nalpa@marbleseed.org
