DESCRIPTION:Prepare for a productive fall season by learning practical post-harvest food safety and quality control strategies at this hands-on workshop hosted by the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. \nAs cool-season greens\, storage crops\, and season extension systems come into production\, effective post-harvest handling becomes critical for maintaining quality\, reducing losses\, and meeting food safety standards. This workshop combines technical assistance\, hands-on demonstrations\, and peer learning to help farmers strengthen their post-harvest systems and prepare for increased production and sales. \nParticipants will learn how to: \nApply Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for post-harvest handling\, storage\, and transportation of fresh produce\nEvaluate current post-harvest systems and identify practical infrastructure improvements\nImprove food safety and quality control processes\nPrepare farm operations for increased fall harvest volume and market demand
