This conversation will also touch on sweet potatoes vs yams\, and the jerusalem artichoke (sunchoke). This webinar is part of an ongoing series focused on the food crops that sustain us\, connect us to our heritage\, and help us adapt to changing climates and food systems. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and share experiences from the field. Participants will also connect with farmers and resource providers from Michael Fields Agricultural Institute\, Michigan Food & Farming Systems\, Fondy Food Center\, and Fresher Together.

SUMMARY:Socioecological Resilience for Organic Farms
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar we aim to learn about how agroecological practices can help us to increase socio-ecological resilience. This event is for farmers\, gardeners\, and organic seed enthusiasts who want to learn about principles and practices to increase farm resilience. Organic seed is produced on organic farms\, and with the constant challenges and changes of the current times\, it is important that we are prepared at different levels to be able to recover after a disturbance. Let’s talk with Professor Clara Nicholls from the University of California and the Latin American Scientific Society of Agroecology (SOCLA) about how agroecology has the potential to help us to increase socio-ecological resilience.
