Ryann Monteiro

Ximena Reyna  was born in Mexico City and raised in Michigan since the age of two, Ximena will hold a degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability this December, with a minor in Sustainable Agriculture from Michigan State University.

Ximena’s professional journey has been marked by a deep commitment to fostering positive change in local communities. Her experience includes dedicated work with organizations like the Allen Neighborhood Center in Lansing, MI, engaging with communities to address critical social and environmental issues. Additionally, Ximena has undertaken research on Integrated Pest Management within Cacao agriculture in Madre de Dios, Peru, collaborating with the Alliance for a Sustainable Amazon to advance sustainable agricultural practices.

As a Racial Equity Intern, Ximena’s career aspirations align with her passion for community engagement and sustainable farming practices. Her goal is to further her experience in community outreach while contributing to the ongoing fight for racial equity within the agriculture industry. Ximena is dedicated to making a significant impact and being an integral part of the team dedicated to advancing this vital cause.

Jacqueline Warren is a current MPH student at UC Berkeley focusing on nutrition and global health. She comes with experience in genetic engineering and sustainable agricultural practices, but is shifting to a more people-centered approach to solving global hunger.

She is passionate about improving our food systems to prioritize sustainability, equity, and culture.
