Scouting Stands for Replanting Plans

July 14 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
Event Series (See All)
Free

Knowing whether to replant a field can be one of the most difficult decisions organic grain farmers make. While replanting requires additional time and expense, poor stand establishment can reduce crop competitiveness, increase weed pressure, and impact yields throughout the season.

Join veteran organic farmers Hans Bishop and Aaron Vercler as they share their experiences with planting, stand evaluations, field scouting, and making informed replanting decisions. Participants will learn practical strategies for assessing plant populations, evaluating weed pressure, and determining when replanting is the best option.

Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A session.

Topics include:

Evaluating stand establishment
Assessing plant populations
Managing weed pressure
Factors to consider before replanting
Farmer experiences and practical tips
Live audience Q&A
