Organic Pricing

Let's work together to improve organic pricing data.

Organic Pricing Data and Sources

While the organic community needs better organic pricing data, there are a number of sources for you to benchmark your business pricing.  Please contact our Farmer Services team if you are willing to help provide organic pricing data or know of other sources we should include on this page for farmers.

US Market News

U.S. Market News has an organic landing site where they are building more organic pricing datasets.  While datasets may change, they have included: Cotton, Dairy, Livestock, Poultry, Grain, and Specialty Crop data.

Maine Market Reports

Since 2020, MOFGA and Maine Farmland Trust have collaboratively produced seasonal market reports to provide a platform for sharing data and information relevant to what’s happening at markets, specifically to support communication between Maine farmers and buyers. The Maine Produce Market Reports are posted on a Google Group platform, which allows readers to interact and connect in real time, communicate about supply and demand needs, and share relevant thoughts and perspectives. Issued every two weeks from May to October, the Reports focus on fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs, reporting trends in supply, demand and pricing across a broad spectrum of Maine growers, buyers and markets.

NOFA-NY Organic Price Index

The NOFA-NY Organic Price Index is created for certified organic farmers in NYS to inform crop planning, accurate pricing, and more.  This price index covers many specialty crops and retail meat cuts.
