Crop Insurance for Organic Farmers

Crop Insurance Resources for Organic Farmers: A Safety Net for Every Farm

Every farm deserves a safety net. In light of recent and ongoing extreme weather events, many organic farmers who haven’t previously engaged with crop insurance recognize the need to have a safety net that works for everyone. OFA has a dedicated Farmer Workgroup engaging with these issues and building relationships with agencies and elected officials to educate them about organic farmer realities and needs. Browse the following resources to learn from others’ experiences and ideas, as well as information regarding Risk Management Agency programs and how they might be part of your farm’s strategy for resilience in the face of extreme weather events.
