Organic Farmer Voices Rising
Your support ensures that farmer voices—not corporate interests—shape the policies that impact our food, our land, and our future.
As we head into 2026, we need your help to turn up the pressure on what organic farmers really need: fair prices and an equitable market, infrastructure to grow local organic supply chains, accessible crop insurance, conservation support, and growing market opportunities. The stakes are too high, and the noise in Washington is too loud for farmers to be ignored.
While the dynamics in D.C. are unpredictable, our farmer members haven’t stopped taking action. In 2025, OFA and Farmer Members:
- Worked with Whole Foods to halt a mandatory and costly invoicing system that would have negatively impacted organic farmers’ bottom line
- Made progress on the issue of protecting organic farmers from buyer bankruptcies, and new Iowa legislation extended the Iowa Grain Indemnity Fund this year to cover clawback claims
- Acted quickly in February and March to gather stories and data from farmers impacted by the federal funding freeze to agriculture programs to measure impact and bring those stories to Congress
- Contributed 942 farmer signatures for a letter to USDA Secretary Rollins about the importance of a fully-staffed National Organic Program
When you invest in OFA, you’re investing in a future where policy is written by the people who work the land, not the corporations that profit from it. Together, we can ensure that organic farmers are heard, respected, and empowered to shape the policies that matter to you and me most.
Before the year ends, will you invest in the farmer voices leading policy change?
Donations above $25 include a one-year membership to the Organic Farmers Association.
