Organic Potato Production Field Day at Igl Farms

July 30 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm EDT
Free

Join Marbleseed at Igl Farms in Antigo, Wisconsin for a day of learning focused on organic potato production, soil health, fertility, and pest management.

Family-owned and operated for more than 75 years, Igl Farms grows certified organic potatoes, grains, and grass-fed Angus beef. Their operation follows the biological farming principles of Midwestern Bio-Ag and Advancing Eco-Ag, emphasizing soil mineral balance, biological activity, and long-term soil health.

This field day will explore organic potato production systems, including fertility management, weed and pest control, specialized equipment, and considerations for farmers interested in transitioning to organic production. Attendees will hear from experienced growers and industry experts, tour the farm’s equipment and facilities, and visit production fields to discuss practical management strategies.

This is a free event and lunch will be provided.

Featured Presenters:

Brad Igl is a third-generation organic farmer and co-owner of Igl Farms LLC. Alongside his father Tom and brother Brian, he helps manage the farm’s organic potato, grain, and grass-fed beef operations.

Brian Igl returned to the family farm in the 1990s and helped lead the farm’s transition to certified organic potato production beginning in 1997.

Rachelle Moss works with Advancing Eco-Ag, supporting farmers across the country with fertility, pest, and disease management strategies through regenerative and biological farming systems.
