Organic Farmer Storytelling Workshop (Story Lab 101)

We’d love to have you join us for a Farmer Story Lab, a 90-minute hands-on workshop session designed to help organic farmers find the words for the work they’re already doing in order to better share their farm’s story and the value of organic with eaters and buyers. (We know you’re busy, but we promise to make it worth your time!)
You produce organic products. You make deliberate decisions every season that most consumers never see. This workshop helps organic farmers tell their farm story clearly, confidently, and in their own voice to grow their business and help others understand what organic is and why they should buy organic.
Here’s what to expect:
– Articulate why you farm organically, and how to say it in a way that sticks
– Share why buying local and domestic organic matters and how to make that case to the people you sell to
– Learn how to shape your story for the audience in front of you, whether that’s a farmers market customer, a retail buyer, or someone you just met
This isn’t a lecture. You’ll write, share, and practice in real time, and you’ll leave with actual material you can use.
P.S. — Farming doesn’t pause for workshops, we get that. As a thank-you for making the time, every attendee will receive a $100 gift card of their choice. We believe we can grow the organic marketplace if more people understand the value of organic!

Who is running the Story Lab workshops?
The Story Labs are designed and facilitated by Modern Species, a creative agency focused on helping farmers, ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, brands, retailers, certifiers, and associations tell clear and compelling stories so buyers and consumers make better choices.
This work is supported by Oregon Tilth and the Organic Farmers Association.
Story Labs are also supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP).
